Promoting sleep was the furthest thing from my mind when deciding on the paint colors for my children’s rooms. For my then 1-year-old son’s room, we just kept the gray color the walls came with. For my then 3-year-old daughter’s room, we went with purple like she wanted.
Turns out, however, that wall colors can potentially impact sleep, as I recently learned from The Baby Sleep Site. Today’s hint is The Baby Sleep Site’s take on the most – and least – sleep-friendly colors for your child’s room, based on findings from the field of color psychology.
The sleep-friendly colors: blue, purple, green, tan and gray
The sleep-unfriendly colors: red, orange and yellow
Lucky for me, both purple and gray made the sleep-friendly list. Read more, including which shades of the friendly colors to consider, at The Baby Sleep Site.
