As I mentioned in a recent hint, I’m a big fan of saving money on maternity wear by asking for, and accepting, hand-me-downs and by making use of regular-sized clothes in my closest that still fit over my bump.
But it’s hard to make it through an entire pregnancy without buying some bigger, belly-friendly clothes. I’ve been able to save money on such purchases, however, by opting for maternity wear that I can still wear once I’ve lost the baby weight and by shopping at a certain retailer offering affordable and stylish maternity clothes, a tip that is today’s hint.
My go-to maternity wear retailer: Old Navy. At Old Navy’s Web site, you’ll find a wide selection of fashionable maternity styles from cowl-neck tops to wrap dresses, all with pretty price tags, and the site’s maternity clearance section is a don’t miss. There, you could recently find stylish tops for as low as $7 and very cute skirts priced as low as $8 (I love this one).
In fact, during my second pregnancy, the only new maternity wear I’ve bought has come from Old Navy, including a basic black maternity skirt, a maternity tankini and maternity exercise pants.
It turns out I’m not the only fan of Old Navy baby-belly and budget-friendly styles. My friends over at Well Rounded NY, for instance, recently featured a number of the retailer’s stylish pregnancy looks, and they wrote that Old Navy is “often one of the first stops we tell friends to make when they need to stock up on pregnancy-perfect fashion.”
Well Rounded NY is also offering a sweet giveaway this week for a $100 Old Navy gift card. And this is a giveaway all of my readers don’t want to miss. How’s that? The gift card doesn’t have to go to maternity wear.
