It’s every parent’s worst nightmare: Your child drops your iPhone in the toilet. That happened to one of my friends recently, who posted the unfortunate news on Facebook when she was trying to rebuild her contact list.
Well, it turns out that there is a way to prevent this kind of situation from ruining your iPhone, as I learned from one of the responses to my friend’s bad news. “Life proof cover!!” was the response and this bit of advice is today’s hint.
I had never heard of this phone case before seeing this response and after reading the LifeProof Web site, I may have to adjust my stance on what’s the best iPhone case for parents. The LifeProof cases, which come for more than just iPhones, purport to be waterproof, dirtproof, snowproof and shockproof, and there are even testimonials on the company’s site about how it’s a toddler proof case. Reviewers at Parenting.com, Baby Gizmo and Toy Queen also seem pleased with it.
However, at about $80, these iPhone cases don’t come cheap, so parents will have to determine if the odds of their phone getting dunked into the toilet or cracked on the floor make the case worth the price.
Of course, there’s also always another option: Just keep your phone out of your child’s hands. While that’s certainly easier said than done, perhaps crafting a fake iPhone together might help.
If you have a LifeProof case, what do you think of it? What other phone cases do you recommend for parents?
